Titleist Vokey SM8 Tour Chrome Wedge
The big focus for Bob Vokey when designing the SM8 wedges for Titleist was center-of-gravity. The CG progressively changes from loft to loft. The lower CG in the stronger lofted wedges helps maximize launch, speed, and spin on fuller shots, while the higher CG in the higher lofted wedges keeps the ball from rolling up the face on your high lofted pitches and delicate shots around the green. Vokey also pushed the CG location to directly behind the face. This placement, along with the lengthened hosel and tungsten in the toe, increased the club's MOI by 7%. This means this is Vokey's most forgiving wedge on full shots. Individually cut micro-grooves help increase spin around the greens, and a special heat treatment process makes the wedge incredibly durable and adds exceptional feel.
The tour chrome finish is the traditional look, but not plated, as to decrease sun glare. The SM8 line offers 6 different sole grinds and multiple loft and bounce combinations to fit any player type.
